Den takes out 3rd place at Gold Coast ABT BREAM Qualifier
Team Member Denis Metzdorf had a great weekend cranking flats and boat hulls to take 3rd place in the ABT qualifier on the 21/22 April 2018. Read below to see how he did it.
"Day 1 we started the day with my usual Macleay Island milk run cranking the vast flats with Damiki dtsco's and the occasional surface lure. We stuck it out and kept cranking just waiting for the tide to start rising so I could get into one of my honey holes. We would have to wait until the last half hour to get there but it was worth it getting 2 nice upgrades at 30 and 35 fork length coming on the dtsco in funa colour. Foot down for the 50km trip back to the weigh in station and a 2.3kg bag put me in 5th place and in a good frame of mind for the following day.
Going into day 2 and a severe lack of tide for the day, I made the call early to crank some boat hulls around Macleay Island. We got there at 745am and straight up put 3 good Bream in the well all over 30 fork. Things slowed up so we went back up to my honey hole for a look but another competitor was in the area so I left it and went back to the boat hulls. It would not be until the last hour that I caught the last 2 bream I needed to fill the bag, not big but big enough. My favorite Pontoon 21 Crack Jacks 48 in colour R60 and Thread fin colours saving the day. At the scales the bag went 2.65kg and finished up in 3rd place."
As always big thanks to Searing Tackle, Australian Bass Tournaments and my non boaters for the weekend.
